Hear New Sound: Cave In's "Sing My Loves"

Boston-based metalcore pioneers, Cave In, have gone far too long without releasing a new album, but all that is about to change on May 24th when the guitar-shredding quartet returns with their fifth LP, White Silence, on Hydra Head Records. It marks the first full-length effort from Stephen Brodsky and company since the band went on an unofficial hiatus back in 2006, reforming in '09 and only offering up the short Planets of Old EP last year. "Sing My Loves" is the first new track off White Silence, and if you're familiar with Cave In's catalog as a whole, it makes sense to find them in this position with their music. It has the sludgy aggression of Until Your Heart Stops, the technical proginess of Jupiter, moments of alt-rock cohesion from their much underappreciated major label release, Antenna and general unpredictability that we've come to expect from the Beantown metalmakers over the span of their career. Welcome back, Cave In...
