LIVESound: Atlas Sound, Beach House Debut New Songs at ATP 2011


This past weekend in Minehead, England marked the latest installment of All Tomorrow's Parties, which saw Brooklyn hipster pin-ups, Animal Collective, curate the three-day long festival event. Among the acts picked to perform alongside the art-pop collagists were Beach House and Bradford Cox under his Atlas Sound moniker. Both Cox and Beach House had hugely rewarding years in 2010 thanks to their respective AwkwardSound acclaimed albums (Cox with Deerhunter's Halcyon Digest and Beach House with their breakthrough, Teen Dream) on top of endless touring. Fans in attendance were treated to some fresh new material from both artists this time around, though, as Beach House debuted a new untitled track while Cox sang the 8-minute long semi-acoustic "Cherry Incognito," complete with help from an interpretive dancer.
