Ty Segall

Ty Segall is no stranger among fellow musicians along the west coast, but 2011 is destined to be a breakthrough year for the garage rocker thanks to a growing interest in the San Francisco music scene that has spawned recent talents such as Girls, The Fresh & Onlys and Tamaryn. Only in his mid-20s, the Laguna Beach native is somewhat of a veteran at this stage in his career as he's recorded countless albums, EPs (all in just three years) and is or has been counted as a member of five(!) other bands including Sic Alps. On his extensive back catalog, Segall has managed to marry power pop and punk influences inside the garage, but his forthcoming album -- and first on the relatively larger indie label, Drag City -- is touted to be his most clean and focused effort to date, drawing your attention to Segall's songwriter skills. The more mellow, classic rock-leaning Goodbye Bread is slated to be released on June 21st, and you'll likely see the shaggy haired beach bum out on the road sometime soon after.
