Hear New Sound: Real Estate's "It's Real"

If their former label counterparts, Woods, own the sound of summer, then Real Estate's forthcoming sophomore effort should be the perfect transition into autumn. Days is set to arrive October 18th on the Brooklyn-by-way-of-New Jersey band's new label home, Domino Records, and was produced by Kevin McMahon (The Walkmen, Titus Andronicus,) who is helping the indie beachcombers turn in their lo-fi bedroom pop recording tools for some sheen studio upgrades like so many other bands are doing right now. "It's Real" is the first track off Days, in which you'll hear Martin Courtney's vocals lifted into clarity, Alex Bleeker's bass and the track's drum beat deepened and Matt "Ducktails" Mondanile's signature jangly summertime guitars giving an added vibrancy to the breezy pop melody. While the amount of sunlight may escaping us by the second with each passing day, Real Estate sound like they've figured out a way to make it last a little longer on "It's Real"..
