Hear New Sound: Warm Ghost's "G.T.W.S."

While you may have noticed that punk rock and hardcore riffs have been soundtracking the summer here at AwkwardSound, autumn is right around the corner, which in turn means a definite change in pace in the stereophonic atmosphere. To help transition our ears into cooler territory, one of AS' earliest BUZZSound, Warm Ghost, will be releasing their formal debut, Narrows, on September 27th through Partisan Records. The Brooklyn-based cold wave duo of Paul Duncan and Oliver Chapoy released their highly enjoyable Uncut Diamond EP earlier in the year, a collection of older material which featured diving synth pop textures amid a dark landscapes of instrumentation and the occasional vocals. On the first listen Warm Ghost has offered up entitled "G.T.W.S.," we hear the multimedia-centric musicians riding new wave melodies as electronics chirp and swell around the chorus, which include a much stronger and poppier vocal presence. "G.T.W.S." FTW...
