Hear New Sound: David Lynch's "Crazy Clown Time"

AwkwardSound's fourth quarter music preview made sure to note the most intriguing inclusion of 2011's final months being that of creative genius and renowned director, David Lynch (Lost Highway, Twin Peaks, Dune and a host of other cult classics.) The visual auteur of all things bizarre has stepped away from the lens and into the recording studio with the results being his highly anticipated debut Crazy Clown Time, due out November 4th on PIAS. Many months ago, we were given our first preview, "Good Day Today" (heard in the link above,) a relatively grounded electro-pop affair that one may not expect to hear from the mind of Lynch. But on the album's title track, things really take a turn for that whacked out, disturbing, surrealist weirdness Lynch fans are (un)comfortable with. If you're familiar with the band from Fire Walk With Me's Roadhouse scene, ever imagined what that baby-creature-thing in Eraserhead might sound like if it had a voice and heck, throw in Karen O wailing in the background, this might be a good indication. Welcome to David Lynch's "Crazy Clown Time"...
