LIVESound: SHARKS' Daytrotter Session

Some of the most memorable moments on Daytrotter come from musicians who use the John Peel-like live session to debut new songs or in this case, deliver unexpected covers. So is the latter case for English punk quartet, SHARKS -- a much overlooked yet hype-worthy band whose 2010 debut EP, Show of Hands earned a spot on AS' 25 Best Albums of 2010 list thanks to Springsteen-homaging blue collar rock anthems like "It All Relates." The Boss may in fact be the common denominator between SHARKS and The National, whose 2010 single "Bloodbuzz Ohio" is reinterpreted here in The Horseshack by the young UK punks. You can hear just how well SHARKS' gruff-sounding frontman James Mattock tackled Matt Berninger's baritone vocals below alongside an early favorite, "Fallen on Deaf Ears." For more of the band's spunky brand of rock, the entire set is available to download for free at SHARKS' Daytrotter session page.
