In Memoriam

This is far from AwkwardSound's favorite post of the year, as it's never fun saying goodbye to the people and sounds who've left an impact on the music scene. As another year comes to an end, AS takes a look back at the bands who called it quits (or are playing it safe with an "indefinite hiatus") and the artists we lost regardless of how little or how long they were around to share their talents. 2011 in particular should be looked back on as a year that the alternative rock landscape bid ado to far too many seminal mainstays than it's normally used to (Note: Despite some shake ups in camp Sonic Youth, AwkwardSound refuses to believe they're among the dearly departed until it's officially confirmed.) The bigger question, however: Will Ponytail three-peat this list in 2012?
