LIVESound: The Drums Cover "I'll Be Home for Christmas"

"I'll Be Home for Christmas" has been covered to death by everyone from songwriting legend Bob Dylan to the too-cute duo of She & Him since Bing Crosby recorded the holiday classic back in 1943. You can now add new wave revivalists The Drums to the long list of musicians to take a stab at the obligatory seasonal standard. The Brooklyn act laid down a rather romantic version of the song complete with Jonathan Pierce's swooning voice and their signature ripply guitar effects during a live session for the UK's Absolute Radio, making for the perfect soundtrack to set the mood while you cozy up next to that special someone by the yule log this holiday. If you've had your fill of Christmas music for the year once the track reaches its end (a fete that's pretty easy to achieve considering shopping malls have been blaring it since Halloween) head on over to The Drums' Absolute Radio page and listen to the rest of their live set -- It includes tracks off this year's solid sophomore effort, Portamento.
