Hear New Sound: Free Energy's "Electric Fever"

There aren't too many bands that can make the clunk of a cowbell sound cool as hell, but the classic rock revisionists in Free Energy never have an issue convincing AS just how hip it is whenever they do. That's just what you get in "Electric Fever," the high tops-laced feel good first listen off their upcoming sophomore LP Love Sign. Last we heard from the Philly quartet was 2010's super fun James Murphy-produced debut Stuck on Nothing, a fully-formed party album comprised of sing-along-in-the-car choruses, KISS-sized hooks and Detroit Rock City guitar licks. While the former LCD Soundsystem frontman isn't sitting behind the knobs this time around, they've entrusted his spot with another venerable producer who knows a thing or two about working with guitar shredders in John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., Kurt Vile) and it sounds like he's keeping their cool, funky retro fashion in style. Plug into Free Energy's "Electric Fever" below and download it here to keep the party going whenever you'd like...
