Sound Bites: Feistodon, Hot Chip and Hot Water Music

Feistodon's "Black Tongue" and "A Commotion"
Technically, Feistodon is just the title of Feist and Mastodon's collaborative split single that's set to be unleashed for tomorrow's Record Store Day extravaganza, but after giving each musician's respected covers of each others tracks a listen, here's hoping it's a name that sticks around beyond this exclusive 7". Might I suggest dropping the "s" from Leslie's latest LP and releasing a full-length called Metal?

Hot Chip's "Night and Day"
UK electro-pop quartet Hot Chip are giving listeners an early look into In Our Heads with the release of the LP's first official single, the quirky dance track "Night and Day." In Our Heads marks the fifth release overall and very first for venerable indie label Domino Records. Before the LP hits shelves, look for the track on a 12" single arriving June 4th, featuring a remix by 2 Bears (a.k.a. Hot Chip member Joe Goddard with DJ / producer Raf Rundell) and the B-side "Jelly Babies."

Hot Water Music's "State of Grace"
Four years after reuniting and eight very long years since their last studio effort, seminal post-hardcore rockers Hot Water Music will be cementing their return with the brand new full-length Exister. The LP arrives on May 15th via the band's new home label at Rise Records, with the billowing roller "State of Grace" acting as its official lead single. The Gainesville punk quartet have a handful of shows mapped out next month in support of Exister, one of which features a standout bill with AS favorites Touché Amoré and Joyce Manor.
