LIVESound: Geoff Rickly Plays the Best of Thursday and Debuts New Song In Philly

The body hasn't even been cold for three months since their final dates in Australia, but Geoff Rickle, former frontman of the dearly departed influential post-hardcore act Thursday, is already taking to the road all by himself and busking out the band's tracks acoustically under a "best of" guise throughout select intimate venues. Rickly made his very first one-off stop in Philadelphia at Gunner's Run this past Wednesday where anyone in attendance got their money's worth as he played a 90-minute set made up of classics from the New Jersey's back catalog like the band's breakthrough single "Understanding In a Car Crash" and the debut of the new song "Your Love's a Pawn Shop." During Thursday's active days, Rickly was the one on stage swinging the mic rather than sitting behind the six-string, so these performances could be a hint at what's to come for the seminal frontman's artistic future. Time to let this rehash...
