Hear New Sound: Superchunk's "This Summer"

AwkwardSound firmly believes that the spirit and heart of the summer season can best be defined by listening to your favorite punk or hardcore albums (regardless of what era or sub-genre they represent) and apparently, Merge Records' original DIY darlings Superchunk are on the same page as AS. Today, the Chapil Hill quartet released a brand new 7" single fittingly titled "This Summer," which hits these celebratory touchstones on all levels by conjuring up imagery about road trips, going to shows, all-nighters with your friends all the while delivering it to you through fiery four-chord goodness and moshworthy anthemry. Vinyl enthusiasts, "This Summer" was given a limited 1300 pressing and is available now at your local indie shop alongside the B-side of Bananarama's "Cruel Summer," so don't sleep on it. I'm going to load up my iPod with a ton of 7 Seconds and Descendents now...
