Hear New Sound: Dinosaur Jr.'s "Watch the Corners"

Alternative rock scene pioneers and the pride of Amherst, MA, Dinosaur Jr., have yet to stumble since reforming in 2005 and subsequently picking up right where they left off with delivering ear-busting jams on 2007's comeback Beyond and 2009's wicked loud Farm. On September 18th, they'll likely be delivering another amplified assault of ear-bending rock with I Bet On Sky, due out on Jagjaguwar. "Watch the Corners" is their 10th studio effort's first listen, and no surprises here -- J Mascis, Lou Barlow and Murph have their guitar, bass and drum-smashing formula impressively and effortlessly hammered down to perfection, complete with a chugging mid-tempo riff, sludgy hooks, a glass-cutting Mascis guitar solo and generally playing as close to the red as possible without requiring listeners to reach for their Etymotics.
