Hear New Sound: Tame Impala's "Apocalypse Dreams"

Hate to be the first to break it to you, but from here on out, the summer is officially in decline. Sure, the warm temps might still stick around, but the sunlight won't, and unless you didn't squander your vacation plans before the Fourth of July holiday weekend, you'll have to keep your mind fixated on something to beat the heat. Tame Impala makes for a good distraction, as the Australian pyche rockers' crack the sky open for a dazed and hazed sound that's made for poolside ray-catching sessions or late evening sunsets slowly melting into your skin -- Meaning their new track "Apocalypse Dreams" debuts in a well-timed fashion. It's the first listen off their forthcoming sophomore effort Lonerism, due out later this October via Modular Recordings. While that LP will arrive in a cooler climate, "Apocalypse Dreams"' six-minutes of blurred guitars and fluttering synths will help you soak in the current season while it lasts. Get lost in the doomed sunlight below...
