LIVESound: Vampire Weekend Debut New Song in Cleveland

Always-stylish-in-the-summertime indie darlings Vampire Weekend are currently en route to Chicago's Union Park where they'll be headlining the Sunday night lineup at this year's Pitchfork Music Festival (which you can stream all weekend long over on YouTube.) Before their big gig, they've been getting reacquainted with a live audience through select warm up dates in the surrounding area. Last night, Cleveland's House of Blues was the lucky recipient of the Cape Cod lovin' quartet's first stateside appearance in over two years. Supposedly, VW has a new album in the works that may or may not arrive before year's end (if you ask AS, they should hold out until 2013 -- The latter half of '12 is shaping up to be among one of the most competitive markets in recent memory) and they're using this small tour to test drive new material. Below is an untitled new track, which -- while not perfectly audible enough to pick apart into detail -- is at least hook-heavy and upright enough to get you excited for at least one peppy preppy punk jam. Clap to the beat, everyone...
