Hear New Sound: Karen O's "Strange Love"

Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman and perpetual kid-at-heart Karen O is at it again with getting in touch with her childish side, but instead of hangin' with the Wild Things, she'll be getting gory for Tim Burton's latest upcoming theatrical effort, Frankenweenie. The animated Disney film, which hits theaters seasonably just in time for Halloween on October 5th, is an adaptation of the goth auteur's often-forgotten 1984 live action short of the same name. Karen O offers up a solo contribution for the film's adult-friendly soundtrack, Frankenweenie Unleashed! (due out September 25th on Walt Disney Records) which also boasts appearances from the Cure's Robert Smith, Passion Pit and -- hey, Winona Ryder! On that note, Karen O recently spoke with Rolling Stone about how Beetlejuice's Harry Belafonte musical scenes influenced her track "Strange Love"'s sound. It's also got that certain twinkle that made her voice all over the Where the Wild Things Are soundtrack sound endearingly whimsical. Hear Karen O's vision of a "Strange Love" below and enjoy it in surround sound as the credits roll later this autumn...
