Hear New Sound: ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead's "Catatonic"

On October 23rd, proggy noise rockers ...And You Will Know by the Trail of Dead will follow up last year's Best Albums listmaking effort Tao of the Dead with their 8th studio LP Lost Songs, out on Superball Music. The band's original co-directors Conrad Keely and Jason Reece spoke with Rolling Stone about the effects of disconnect from American Culture on this go (as evidenced by the Pussy Riot dedication and fiery first Recommended Listen "Up to Infinity") as well as the influence of Fugazi's politically-conscious punk ethos on their sound. The "internal chemistry" of the band -- now a quartet featuring guitarist / drummer Jamie Miller and new bassist Autry Fulbright II -- is also cited by Reece as a positive step forward. Lost Songs newest preview "Catatonic" shows off a bit more of that organic intensity alongside ...Trail of Dead's split personalities in the punk fervor of Jason Reece, as he navigates this fueled-up pile-on. There's nothing lax about this listen...
