Hear New Sound: Weekend's "Sirens"

Last year saw Weekend release Red, an excellent five-track EP that marked a departure away from the hashed out stonergaze rock heard on the Brooklyn-via-Bay Area transplants' 2010 debut Sports and trade it in favor of lush Slumberland pop fuzz. The band is currently prepping their sophomore follow-up slated to be released sometime in 2013, and they've offered up a bit of a teaser with the new track "Sirens." The new listen is apparently still in its rough cut stages, but it gives curious ears a good idea as to how far down Weekend are planning to delve into the heavenly C86 sound. Needless to say, "Sirens" is complete with blurry guitars and frontman Shaun Durkan making a vocal apparition of sorts with a repetitively faint chorus. Sound the alarm -- Weekend is back with "Sirens" below...
