LIVESound: SLEEPIES Play Big Snow Buffalo Lodge

It's almost October, which means a shitload of AwkwardSound's favorite bands will soon be heading out to NYC (unless of they are already there, of course) for this year's CMJ Music Marathon event scattered throughout every venue and corner of the Big Apple. Over the year, AS has spotlighted several up and coming bands as part of its ongoing BUZZSound series, and if you've kept up with the album reviews as well, you'd know that SLEEPIES have established themselves as a major player destined for the inevitable year-end lists with their grungy sophomore effort Weird Wild World. The BK trio will make a few appearances at this year's CMJ, one representing Godmode Records' solid roster showcase at Delinquency (including fellow BUZZSound alumni Mr. Dream and YVETTE) and another as part of an excellent long list (which also features Speedy Ortiz) at the Paper Box for the good people at Exploding In Sound and GIMME TINNITUS. SLEEPIES' have been making the rounds across the region in support of Weird Wild World, hitting up Williamsburg's Big Snow Buffalo Lounge last week. Below you can get a preview of what to expect come mid-October as they cram a lot of noisy energy into a visibly small space (basically, an audio microcosm of CMJ itself) with "Summer Bummer" off their self-titled debut before segueing into Weird Wild World fav, "Our Ways."
