Hear New Sound: Touché Amoré's "Unsatisfied" (The Replacements Cover)

A month ago, Touché Amoré kept listeners baited on their every move with "Whale Belly," a brand new track and A-side off their 7" split with the Casket Lottery, released today on No Sleep Records. As if that listen doesn't provide further evidence as to why punk fans should keep the Los Angeles post-hardcore revivalists and 2011 AS Breakthrough Artist honorees on their must-watch list, the single's B-side interestingly sees the quintet broadening their palette altogether by covering the Replacement's rickety punk classic "Unsatisfied." Touché Amoré remain as loyal to the Let It Be cut's crisp clanging as much as you could expect from a band known for diving heart first into thrashing riffs, but it's frontman Jeremy Bolm's coarse throating that ups the ante of inert intensity which Paul Westerberg only flirted with back in '84 that makes this take something like a tributary counterpart to Parting the Sea Between Brightness and Me emotive epic "Home Away from Here." Hear Touché Amoré's more than satisfying "Unsatisfied" below...
