Hear New Sound: Frank Ocean's "Wiseman"

Frank Ocean has had an amazing year, cleaning up house across the year-end list spread elsewhere and on parts of AwkwardSound as well (Channel Orange placed at #19 on AS' 25 Best Albums while "Thinkin Bout You" came in as the #3 Best Song of 2012.) A brand new song from the OF hitmaker was also slated to appear on the soundtrack to the latest Quentin Tarantino flick, Django Unchained, but unfortunately it never found its way into film once it reached the cutting board. Of that decision, Tarantino explained Ocean "Frank Ocean wrote a fantastic ballad that was truly lovely and poetic in every way, there just wasn't a scene for it. I could have thrown it in quickly just to have it, but that's not why he wrote it and not his intention. So I didn't want to cheapen his effort. But, the song is fantastic, and when Frank decides to unleash it on the public, they'll realize it then." Last night, via Ocean's Tumblr, he made it possible to do just that with the new synth hatchet slow-mover in question called "Wiseman." In Ocean's words, "django was ill without it." AS is inclined to believe it would have made it slightly more awesome with its inclusion. His gift to the mercenary magi below...
