Hear New Sound: King Tuff's "Somewhere Out There"

AwkwardSound has been a longtime supporter of the releases of Cali cassette-friendly label Burger Records, and not just because they make awesome releases available from bands both established and young on AS' preferred format, but because they have a soft spot for cuddly cats and dogs, too. Earlier this year, they put out The Kitty Comp, a dual cassette featuring unreleased contributions from Ryan Adams, Young Guv (a.k.a. Ben Cook of Fucked Up,) Mikal Cronin and a ton of other garage punkers to help pay off vet bills for an injured feline found near their Fullerton headquarters. Now, the folks at Burger are serving up another good deed with the The Weiner Dog Comp, assembled to aid an adorable Dachshund named "Popcorn" who needs surgery to remove a growth on his abdomen. It sold out within days of its release this past week (which is a good thing!,) but if you slept on the cause, one of its 71 cuts is being offered up in King Tuff's so, so cute and twee cover of "Somewhere Out There" from the cartoon classic, An American Tale (which he says was his favorite song as a "miniature.") There's just way too much "Aww..." going on in this post, so I'll just let you listen before your heart bursts...
