Hear New Sound: Alkaline Trio's "I Wanna Be a Warhol"


You have to give longstanding Chi-town coffin lovin' punks Alkaline Trio a handful of credit, as they've managed to trudge on despite living through the rise and fall of emo's first, second and third waves, critical admiration and damnation, commercial success and major label flops all within a span of a 17-years-and-counting career. Like fellow genre vets Bad Religion, Rancid and the Descendents, Alk3 can always count on having a loyal dedication no matter what thanks to a reliable formula of intelligently set melodic pop-punk sensibilities and self-deprecating lyrical satire done right, and that's exactly what you hear on their new single "I Wanna Be a Warhol." It's the first preview off their as-yet-to-be-detailed 9th studio effort and follow-up to 2010's This Addiction, due out sometime later this year on Epitaph.
