Hear New Sound: Night Birds' "Maimed for the Masses"

When you think about it, Night Birds have a lot in common with pro-wrestling legend and extreme wrestling daredevil, Mick Foley. Just like the former champ's journey from being a backyard wrestler to holding multiple WWE titles during its "Attitude Era," the surf-sided hardcore punk quartet have spent years crawling around Brunswick's basement scene, now just experiencing due recognition beyond the tri-state's DIY spaces with the release of their new four-track 7" EP Maimed for the Masses, due out on May 7th through longstanding venerable punk indie Fat Wreck Chords (the whole shebang of a full-length, Born To Die In Suburbia, will be put out later this year on Grave Mistake.) BrooklynVegan has posted its title track, and it's a speedy listen that spends less time waiting around for waves, perhaps because their eyes are set on the squared circle paying homage to the wrestling martyr known as Mrs. Foley's Baby Boy.
