Hear New Sound: Paint It Black's "Little Fists"

AwkwardSound is beginning to sense a pattern here. Just last week, post-hardcore vets Paint It Black reawakened from a nearly four year silence with "Greetings, Fellow Insomniacs," the first listen off their upcoming EP Invisible, due out April 2nd on No Idea Records. On Monday, BrooklynVegan premiered another firestarter in "Headfirst," and yesterday, PunkNews.org strung out the latest exclusive cut with "Props for Ventriloquists." If you're catching on, all or most of Invisible will likely be seen in the open Internet air before its official release, and today was no exception, as Big Cheese Magazine got dibs on the newest preview, "Little Fists". Frontman Dan Yemin talked a bit in depth about the track, which is dedicated to his daughter and offers some very punkly dad advice in its lyrics ("You know we’ve got to fall before we walk / We’ve got to sink before we swim / So have patience / Stop checking the clock / And if someone locks you out, kick your way back in...") Yemin, Jared Shavelson, Josh Agran and Andy Nelson stick to PIB's blueprint of melodic ferocity, and yet pull off the heartfelt words of widsom with ease, making this perhaps the most beautiful song these Philly dudes will ever do. Fatherhood hasn't softened these modern post-hardcore makers by any means, that's for sure. Get hit hard with "Little Fists" below...
