Hear New Sound: Paint It Black's "Greetings, Fellow Insomniacs"

The last time I had seen or heard anything out of Paint It Black, I was blaring their set from Austin at 2011's Fun Fun Fun Fest, complete with Dan Yemin cussing up a storm about big government and vegan politics between each song as he waded through the crowd, really making a viewer livestreaming thousands of miles away feel as close to the pit as possible. The Philly post-hardcore quartet's members are a busy bunch, however, with Yemin also an integral part of past active lives Lifetime and Kid Dynamite while Andy Nelson does double duty in Ceremony, getting in the way of the four reconvening in the studio to work on the follow ups to AS' unoffical favorite punk album of 2008, New Lexicon and 2009's Amnesia and Surrender EPs. Paint It Black's dry spell is now over thankfully, with a new six-track EP entitled Invisible due out on April 2nd through No Idea Records. Its first listen, "Greetings, Fellow Insomniacs" made its debut fittingly late Thursday night, but Yemin's growling wake up call alongside his bandmates' melodically caffeinated riffs are enough to give you a second wind regardless of what time it's delivered. Hello again, Paint It Black, below...
