Hear New Sound: Into It. Over It.'s "Spinning Thread"

Into It. Over It., the project of multi-tasking indie-emo lifer Evan Weiss (who counts himself a member of various other projects such as Their / They're / There and Pet Symmetry as well) is also a prehistoric BUZZSound original dating all the way back to AwkwardSound's very first post ever when the site profiled five emo bands bringing the genre back to life for the better. It’s kind of surprising that it’s taken the music world this long to catch on to this new wave, but with rekindled interest in post-hardcore and next-gen bands like Dads crossing over into major tastemaker territory, Weiss and Into It. Over It.’s forthcoming second studio outing Intersections will likely be seeing more ears pointed in its direction. Due out on September 24th on new label home Triple Crown Records, the effort was recorded with fellow Chicago-based producer Brian Deck (Modest Mouse’s The Moon and Antarctica,) who brings a certain twiggy maturity to Into It. Over It.’s first preview, “Spinning Thread.” Where last year's formal debut Proper was a solid offering of pop-punk-leaning reflections, Weiss' influence by the '90s Illinois scene in Braid and Cap'n Jazz is telling here, and thus is some considerable adult transitional growing up by the emotive wordsmith. Give "Spinning Thread" a whirl below...
