Hear New Sound: Kal Marks' "Parking Lot"

Bostonian indie rock knockers Kal Marks were named a BUZZSound here on AwkwardSound recently thanks to frontman Carl Shane’s ability to chomp down tough-swallowing life-goes-to-shit lyrics with a crooked jaw like it’s a gourmet four course meal while bandmates Mike Geacone and Nick Egersheim wash the crumbs down with big gulps of feedback. The three-piece is ready the release of the sad stories and relentless optimism scribbled in Shane’s diary when their sophomore effort Life Is Murder arrives on September 17th through a collective effort by Exploding In Sound, Midnight Werewolf and Sophomore Lounge. We’ve already heard the heartaching quakes begin to rumble in the album’s masturbatory title track, and now Consequence of Sound has premiered another pill to swallow in “Parking Lot.” This one charges up on a similar voltage of emotion as its predecessor, but marches on with the caustic electricity of ...Trail of Dead or, in a more local sense, labelmates Grass Is Green. The band has also just announced an ambitious venture across the States through all of September and early October, so puts your gears in the "Parking Lot" below and get ready for them when they come your way.
