Hear New Sound: War's "Somme, Maggio"

Earlier this week, AS highlighted upcoming plans by Sacred Bones to release the double A-side single "At War for Youth" from War, a new project forged between Iceage frontman Elias Bender R√łnnenfelt and fellow Danish punk Loke Rahbek of Sexdrome. Now comes news from the other side of the world where like-minded Italian label Avant! Records (who have put out material from the likes of past BUZZSounds Cult of Youth) will be doing their part in the coming month to spread the sounds of War when they release The Glass House Etiquette, a 7" vinyl split the duo made with Sweden's Lust for Youth. Originally released on cassette last September, one the the split's cuts "Somme, Maggio" is another sprawling lo-fi listen that splinters off of punk ethos, electronica and a rash distortion and noisy synths to create one of the more obscured and indescribable styles of music in recent memory.
