Brands can spend as much as they want on making sleek, eye-catching designs to get more sales on their harmonicas but nothing sells the instrument better than good quality sound and build. That is why I am very excited to talk about SEYDEL Blues Session Steel Key of C Harmonica, one of my favorite diatonic harmonicas under $100 range. This instrument offers a lot more than what you might think. Great comfort, airtight design, and durable material are just a few things to love about this model. For more, keep on reading.

Build

What makes an instrument on of the best of its kind? Well, there are a lot of factors and all of them vary depending on who you ask. For me, the quality of material and expert construction is what makes an instrument worthwhile. With this Blues Session 10-hole diatonic harp, you get orange ABS plastic comb, smooth metal cover plates, and corrosion-free stainless steel reeds. My favorite part is the steel reeds because it makes the instrument 5-10 times more durable than brass reeds. Design-wise, this model does not have that much to offer. In fact, a lot of people (including me) are not that keen on the orange comb, but it definitely does not make me not want to play it. The cover plates are smooth and comfortable so that even a  beginner will have an easy time playing this mode. There are no sharp edges and are well rounded while the instrument itself is easy to open and clean up.

SEYDEL Harmonica Sound

If you have not figured out by the point, this is a diatonic 10-hole harmonica in the key of C. While its looks do not really give that much away this instrument is a freaking gem when it comes to the sound. It has amazing highs and a mellow tone. The volume is great and you don’t have to put in a lot of effort to get the right tonality. Once you pick this baby up you won’t want to put it down and, honestly, you won’t have to for a while because its ergonomic design and comfortable construction allows players to use it for hours on end and not get exhausted. This is an easy-to-play instrument that will allow you to produce amazing sound with great volume and almost no effort.

Conclusion

SEYDEL Blues Session Steel harmonica is an amazing diatonic harp with a lot to offer. Ergonomic design, stainless steel reeds and polished plates are durable and produce a sound that is almost unmatched in its price range. While I am not a big fan of the design (a.k.a. I just don’t like orange) it is a very easy issue to overlook in the overall context. Would I recommend this instrument to intermediate players? Most definitely! Beginners? Well, if you want a high-quality harp and don’t mind spending a bit more on it, then go ahead because it will be one of your best investments.
