Guitarists can be split in two groups: those who look down on pedalboards and those who realize how wonderful they are. I belong to the latter category for many reasons: they help you set up your chain easily and keep it intact while transportation, they protect your expensive stompboxes, and, well, I’m a perfectionist. I like everything to be neat and well-ordered and that’s probably why I buy every advertised organizer. Pedalboards are a sort of therapy for me and I always suggest investing in them, no matter how many pedals you own.

They come in all shapes and sizes and you can definitely find something that will protect your small collection. But today we aren’t discussing that particular case – this article is dedicated to those who own numerous stompboxes and require something that can fit at least 12 units. It might seem hard to believe but even such extensive boxes can be found at an affordable price. Behringer is here to save us once again.

Their PB1000 is one of the best pedalboards because it combines all the qualities we’re looking for: it’s affordable, durable, and spacious. If you’re searching for a pedalboard that can accommodate all your stompboxes, then you should definitely check this one out. Stay with me and I’ll provide you with all the information you’ll need to make the final decision. Shall we begin?

BEHRINGER PB1000 Features

Behringer has been one of the most prominent representatives of the affordable price range for quite a while now. More often than not, they provide us with products that have decent quality. That pattern is maintained with pedalboards, as well. Their PB1000 is probably one of the best deals you can get for the price. It looks typical – you won’t find anything to write home about in terms of appearance. It features a black body with black interior and that’s it.

However, as we all know fancy looks won’t protect your pedals – a sturdy body will. And that’s where this buddy doesn’t have any problems. It’s built with hard plastic that will withstand quite a bit of abuse. I know, I know, most of you hate everything that starts with plastic, but this material is pretty rugged. Unless you throw it from a twelve-story building, you have nothing to worry about. PB1000 has a suitcase style – you can mount your pedalboards on the surface, close the lid and even lock it. This way your valuable collection will be stored securely and no one will be able to touch it. Sounds intuitive, ha?

When it comes to the interior, this bad boy has a couple of virtues there too. It is covered with padding, including the pedalboard itself. It has pre-cut shapes for standard-sized stompboxes, but you can always cut them the way you desire for those unusual units. It has enough space to accommodate up to 12 standard pedals, which is pretty amazing. But the biggest selling point for PB1000 is the fact that it’s powered. It comes with an in-built 1.7A adapter that can supply your stomps. The package does also include ¼ ” patch cables and 1 x 12 daisy-chain chord.

There’s one thing that you should consider, though: the cables that come with this pedalboard don’t have the best quality so don’t rely on them too much. And also, don’t connect all 12 pedals to the adapter, because it will get overheated and produce some noise which I’m sure you don’t want to have in your chain. Other than that I can’t think of any issues that you might have with this one. Oh, I almost forgot, it does also have dual inputs and outputs for sending the signal to two amps and incorporating your stereo pedals without losing their potential. I’m convinced that even the pickiest guitarists will enjoy PB1000, since its advantages definitely outweigh a couple of minor issues.

Conclusion

It’s really easy to think that pedalboards aren’t essential tools for guitarists, but that attitude will deprive you of the chance to experience just how helpful they are. Behringer PB1000 is one of the best examples, since it offers great protection without any complication. It’s really easy to assemble and carry around due to its padded interior and lightweight body. Yes, it does have some minor issues, but I’m sure we can work our way around them, can’t we? If I were you, I’d add this one to my shopping cart immediately, but it’s all up to you. Good luck!
