BEHRINGER PB600 Features
We all know by now that affordable products require a certain amount of sacrifice from us. Depending on what type of device we’re talking about, usually, we have to turn a blind eye on several features. It’s all about compromise and if you are willing to do that, then you’ll be perfectly fine. Behringer PB600 won’t require that much from you. Even though it has some flaws, it’s still worth taking a risk. After all, you can easily work your way around its issues and still get a great value for money. I’ll break down its properties and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
This fella is a shrunken version of PB1000, which means it shares all the virtues that its bigger brother surprised us with. PB600 comes in a heavy-impact plastic case that can withstand quite a bit of abuse. It will remind you of the toolbox in your basement and we all know how sturdy those are. This is the case when a plastic material isn’t an issue at all, so let’s abstain from complaining about that. It has a handle for easy transportation and can be locked if needed (you have to purchase locks separately). The internal part of the case is padded to guarantee maximum protection for your pedals. This means that this bad boy will be there for you for all those times when you have to shove your pedal collection in the back of your van and guard them attentively.
The pedalboard itself is covered with pre-cut padding for standard-sized stompboxes. But in case you own bigger ones, you can always reshape them and even remove some of the parts of the pedalboard. This fella is powered, i.e. it comes with an in-built 1.7A adapter. It is big enough to accommodate six 2.5″ x 4.5″ pedals. The package comes with some of the necessary wirings, including a couple of ¼” and 1 x 6 daisy chain cables. These cords don’t have the best quality, so you might want to substitute them if some noise occurs in your chain.
If new cables don’t solve the problem, try taking it easy with the adapter and don’t power everything simultaneously. Lastly, PB600 has dual inputs and outputs for stereo operation, making it easier to connect your stereo pedals and route them to the amp. As you can see, this one has a lot to brag about.
