Blueridge BG-2500 Historic Series with Deluxe Case

Pros:

  • Beautiful looks
  • Amazing construction
  • Comfortable (especially for jumbo styled guitar)

Cons:

  • If you are a beginner it might be a bit pricey
  • Might want to change strings

The BG-2500 is part of the Historic Series and the first Blueridge guitar made in Classic 30s Super-Jumbo pattern. This is one of the most beautiful jumbo-style guitars that I have laid my eyes on but the looks are definitely not the biggest star of this guitar, the comfort (which is often a rare thing for jumbo guitars) and functionality of this model makes it a great option for professionals as well as beginners who want to try out jumbo style models but have never even held one in their hands. The sound, tone, playability, and construction of this acoustic guitar under 1500 are unmatched in its price range.

Build

This is a beautiful jumbo-style acoustic guitar with a solid Sitka spruce top and scalloped bracing. The construction of the guitar ensures rigidity while enhancing the articulation and clarity of the sound. The back and sides are made from solid flamed maple which not only looks ridiculously good but gives GB-2500 more volume. The neck is also flamed maple and is easy to grip and play with which makes this model an ideal choice for someone not as comfortable with guitars, be is a beginner or a person with smaller hands. Blueridge has used construction methods used in Golden Era and integrated it with more modern techniques, which results in a product that holds the best from two different times.

Hardware

Blueridge has equipped this model with an Ebony fingerboard and bridge with Art Deco inlays, multi-ply, white bound tortoise-style pickguard, and a lot more. The tuners are gold-plated and not only keep your guitar in tune but make it easier for you to retune, a big advantage for a lot of people out there who find the task of re-tuning quite daunting. The nut and saddle are real bone which is considered to be the best (and for some the only viable) material for great sound. And as a bonus (although I would not call such a beautiful and massive item that) this model comes with Gator GC-Jumbo Deluxe ABS Acoustic Guitar Case, an elegant and sturdy case that will protect this beauty in any weather and situation so you can keep your mind rested not worrying about ruining this beautiful specimen.

Blueridge BG‌ 2500 Sound

The carefully selected tonewood of GB-2500 and construction methods, that integrate the best of the old and the new worlds, show in the sound of this guitar. The moment you pick it up you realize, unlike a lot of other jumbo-style models this one is a lot more comfortable (even for the first-time jumbo players). But the comfort does not mean that Blueridge has made is either with less quality material or taken away something, this baby delivers bombastic, astounding volume with details in a tone that even beginners, with untrained, eat, could appreciate.

Conclusion

The GB-2500 Historic Series is a winner in all aspects: looks, comfort, sound, and construction. Blueridge has gone the extra mile to ensure that every single detail is pristine and functional, delivering one of their best products that can be enjoyed by beginners and professionals, or anyone in between.
