Who said that we can’t purchase fancy guitars under 1000 bucks? The market of electric guitars has changed so much throughout all these years that it has become way more forgiving for all of us. Today we have the chance to get fantastic models for the price that doesn’t necessarily break the bank or empty our budgets. We have the opportunity to experience everything a great guitar can offer – wonderful design and impeccable sound. I know it seems a bit surreal but, trust me, such options are available. I’ll prove that to you by introducing ESP LTD EC-1000VB. This baby combines all the virtues that we could ask for and we couldn’t have been happier about it. It might not be everybody’s cup of tea, but it surely pleases those who find it suitable for their needs. Let’s begin this article, dig deep and explore all the features of this fella!
I can’t help but praise the appearance of LTD EC-1000 VB. The name of the finish is Vintage Black, which translates into a gorgeous matt surface and beautiful gold hardware. Triple crème binding completes the whole design. It’s impossible to articulate how detailed the artwork is here, which is one of the reasons why I love this model so much. But if we put the looks aside, we’ll still be left with a spectacular instrument.
The body material is mahogany, which is a bit heavier compared to alder or basswood, yet it certainly delivers better performance. A thin U-shaped neck is also made from mahogany – it’s built with three pieces of wood layered on top of one another. Macassar ebony fingerboard features 24 XJ frets that have a lot of room for your fingers. It also has beautiful inlays that add an extra touch of scrupulousness to the guitar. The scale length is 24.75” inches here, making this fella slightly smaller than its counterparts. The overall construction is quite impressive – every part of EC-1000VB is sturdy and will definitely last through years of playing.
This guitar offers premium components in terms of hardware as well. It has a Tonepros Locking TOM bridge with a tailpiece, which holds tuning pretty well. Speaking of the tuning, we have LTD locking tuners here, which does an amazing job at altering the tuning and fixing the strings in particular positions. As mentioned above, the hardware color is gold – I don’t even have to tell you how well this color goes with the black surface.
The electronics is the part where opinions might start to shift in two different directions. The quality is impeccable, there’s no doubt about that. But EC-1000VB features EMG active pickups that might not be preferred by some guitarists. You see, these bad boys are punchy, aggressive, and intense, and that, my friend, can be a little too much for some. However, that doesn’t degrade the worth of this guitar by any means. EMG 60 on the neck and EMG 81 on the bridge positions do an amazing job at offering versatile and interesting tones. They are paired with two Volume knobs and single Tone control, as well as a toggle. I’m sure you know what these switches can do so I won’t waste your time on that.
LTD Deluxe EC 1000 Sound
If you have never played with EMG active pickups, you might not know what is waiting for you. Those who have some experience with such electronics will definitely be ready for the power of this beast. It can easily yield clean tones, yet it unleashes its character once you crank it up, plug it in with a distortion pedal and start jamming out. It drives extremely high gain to the amp, enabling you to go as crazy as you want. The beast can be tamed, though, and you can enjoy those pristine tones whenever you feel like it.
ESP did it again – they came out with a spectacular device that we have a hard time resisting. Their LTD Deluxe EC-1000VB is truly a wonderful electric guitar – regardless of your professional level, it has everything that it takes to satisfy your needs. This puppy is perfect for rhythmic, fast riffs, difficult chord passages or complicated techniques. Its design and sound will mesmerize you in the most pleasant way and pave an enjoyable path for creative performances. Good luck!
