AC240OPN is a part of Ibanez Artwood series which aims at creating guitars that combine tradition and modern construction and materials to deliver the most comfortable guitars that sound like high-end models to their clients who cannot afford thousands and thousands on a guitar.
Build
This is a solid mahogany top acoustic grand concert guitar that. Mahogany is a great, yet more affordable material, that ages well and will lasts you for years, only improving with time if you treat it right. AC240OPN is fit for young players, inexperienced players as well as seasoned professionals who are seeking an affordable model that is still of good quality. Top, back, sides and neck are made from mahogany making this model durable, and sturdy but at the same time comfortable in your hands. The neck shape is perfect for a comfortable grip and playing and 44.5mm neck and 24.9″ scale length makes it great for fingerpicking and many styles of playing.
Hardware
Fretboard and bridge on Ibanez AC2500PN are made of rosewood, another good quality material. Ibanez understands that good material can make or break a guitar, so providing good material is vital in creating the perfect experience for their clients. This model also features chrome Grover Tuners which provides tuning stability, and bone nut and saddle offer are extremely good quality and provide strong overtones.
Ibanez has also come up with Advantage pins that have a different shape than traditional pins. The shape of these pins allows for easier reinsertion. The other big advantage is that the shape of these pins won’t allow for them to be pushed too far in while also avoiding the possibility of them falling out. This model is also “open pore” which makes wood age better as it can “breathe”.
Ibanez AC240 Sound
The tonewood and every material that Ibanez chose for this model resonate on a new level when you are listening to this guitar. It becomes very clear why it is particularly important to have good material. The tone on AC240OPN is rich and strong courtesy of a solid mahogany top as well as back and sides, while the mahogany C-profile neck makes it warmer. The sound and tone stay consistent for a long time and get even better with time (taking that you take proper care of the guitar and tonewood).
Conclusion
This model is just under $300 and I think it is a perfect golden medium between very cheap guitars that will come for very low prices but might not be as good in quality and something that has amazing sound, amazing quality but costs over $1000. For the price that you are giving you will get a beautiful, loud, consistent and comfortable guitar that will last you years and make your experience with guitar delightful.
