Lucero’s Flamenco Series aims at creating traditional guitars for model players. Through tweaking the design of traditional flamenco guitars Lucero came up with models that will appease beginners and experienced players alike. It is not an easy task to find a well-priced guitar that will fit all your requirements. A lot of manufacturers try to and often fail. Lucero has been one of the more consistent companies that have delivered of their promises of supreme guitars at great prices. Without further ado, let’s talk more about their LFB250Sce, a traditional guitar with a modern twist and electronics.
Build
Based on the best tradition and years of trial and error Lucero came up with innovations that would allow high-quality guitars to be sold for more budget-minded players. The LFB250Sce combines solid select spruce top with cypress back and sides that yield great sound and balanced tone. The shallow neck profile is perfect for beginners who are not that comfortable with guitars yet. The cutaway is designed to allow access to the upper frets and make playing much more comfortable and easier for you.
Hardware
The LFB250Sce comes with gold D’Addario ProArte strings. It is a rare thing that I do not have to say “change the strings right away” but when I do it definitely feels pretty great. That is definitely the case with this set. As for the tuners they are Ebonite Regal that are great quality and easy to use. The Nubone nut and saddle are also okay although not the best material. That being said I do not think that sound-wise Nubone will be very different from the real bone, at least for beginners.
Lucero LFB250Sce Sound
The selection of tonewood, once you start playing will seem like a match made in heaven with a beautiful concoction of warm and rich sound and well-balanced tone. The action is a bit high. Lucero has definitely mastered flamenco style and knows how to infuse bright and clear sound into their guitars. As a beginner or a student I think it is vital for a guitar to sound great from the get-go. I mean, yes, there might be a bit of setting up process and breaking in of the strings with this model BUT it is definitely a smooth ride that you will enjoy.
Electronics
Let’s talk a bit about electronics. Fishman Clasica III preamp is easy to maneuver even for someone who has never had to deal with acoustic-electric models before. The onboard tuners are also pretty accurate and have great intonation. Features on this model are definitely sufficient not only for students but even for professionals too.
Conclusion
For any beginner who wants to test the waters (it is more like a vast ocean, to be honest) of guitars, Lucero LFB250Sce is a perfect companion that will be by your side for years and years to come. Great tonewood that ages well, comfortable feel and easy to use electronics are just a few of the great things about this guitar. As a student you can’t make a better investment than this.
