  • Affordable
  • Great Design

Cons:

  • Sound isn’t Flexible

There are many guitar manufacturers aiming to provide their customers with guitars that are both comfortable and unique looking. Not all of them are successful unfortunately, as the pursuit of unique and comfortable is not always a good combination. Sometimes we get a guitar which stands out in this pursuit and ends up being the one unique instrument you want to own. The Luna Fauna Phoenix Acoustic Guitar is one such guitar, one which we are going to look closer at.

Build Quality

There are many things that make this guitar unique, and most of them are in the body of the guitar. The design is fairly average, with a folk size and shape body. The folk shape allows the guitar to have an affinity to mid and high tones, and while not having the greatest projection force, provides the player with a solid, strong sound.

The top wood of the guitar is spruce. This allows the guitar to have further enhanced upper and mid-range tones, expressed strongly and beautifully with every chord struck. The back and sides of the guitar are made of mahogany, which balances out the guitar’s sound and adds depth to the lower register tones.

The neck of the guitar is a nice and sturdy mahogany, while the fretboard is made of smooth, pleasant rosewood. The neck is slender and easy to play, both for beginners and professionals.

The most outstanding feature of the guitar is the phoenix, or in some varieties a koi, decal design on the body of the guitar. Very beautiful and appealing to the eye, this feature is bound to remain attractive to many- a player or audience member.

Hardware

The bridge of the guitar has a rather well-made Luna rosewood bridge system, which assists the sound in being so much better than what you might expect from a guitar priced as such. The tuners on the guitar are a very sturdy, chrome die cast system which has a very nice tuning stability. Don’t get too ambitious though as even the best systems need maintenance to remain useful for long periods of time.

Luna Fauna Sound

The guitar has very beautiful, pleasant sound with mid and high tones being beautifully emphasized and expressed. Thanks to the shape of the guitar and the selection of the top tonewood, the guitar is perfect for folk music but is also very well fitted into the country and the blues scenes. The sound warm, vibrant and definitely on the energetic side of sound. The mahogany of the back and sides adds that little bit of the low-tone detail we all want in our guitars. Overall, a great quality of sound many will find easy to fall in love with.

Conclusion

This is a guitar for those looking to add a little bit of romance to the way they look when playing the instrument. The beautiful vibrant sound feeds the legend of the instrument, making you feel like you are performing a song of the phoenix. Definitely a guitar I would never hesitate to offer anybody.
