Cordoba F10 Acoustic Nylon String Flamenco Guitar

Pros:

  • Amazing Flamenco sound
  • Comfortable
  • Handmade

Cons:

  • Pricey
  • With some models you get frets that are a bit sharp but that can be fixed

Finding a good quality guitar among hundreds and hundreds of options is not an easy task. Not because there is lack of choice but because there are TOO MANY great guitars out there you never know where to start. You can read dozens of reviews raving over one model but a guitar that is revered by many might not be the best fit for you and vice versa. On top of that, mass manufacturing of guitars sort of takes away from the tradition of handmade guitars that have a unique look and sound. That is why companies who still hand-make their products are hard to come by BUT when you do, you know they will not disappoint. Cordoba is one of those companies and their F10 is an absolute beauty that any intermediate or professional player will enjoy.

Build Quality

The F10 is an all-solid traditional flamenco guitar with European spruce top and cypress back and sides. This tonewood is not only beautiful looking but functional and long-lasting. You can be assured that this tonewood will only help the sound out and get better and better with time.  The build of this model provides amazing, crisp sound and balanced tone without taking away from the volume. Although it uses some of the more traditional techniques, this model incorporates more modern build that will be very comfortable in your hands. For instance, the body on the F10 is thinner than on most traditional guitars and the flat neck provides low action and great flamenco buzz.

Hardware

Cordoba has equipped the F10 with top-notch quality hardware. Starting from the highest quality bone nut and saddle to Cordoba Premium Gold Tuning Machines, this model has pretty much all you want and more. Also, as a part of Luthier series, the F10 has Domingo Esteso pearloid rosette which looks beautiful on this already stunning model. The beauty and functionality merge perfectly in this model with a two-way adjustable truss rod that adds extra stability and durability to the neck and overall construction. On top of that, this model has flamenco-style tap plate and high gloss PU finish that helps the guitar vibrate better.  This model also ships with Savarez Cristal Corum High Tension 500CJ that suits Flamenco style to perfection and Cordoba polyfoam case. This case is actually pretty great. A lot of people, when buying a guitar that comes with a case or a bag do not expect much of protection but this polyfoam case is a winner for me. Although it is a case it is pretty lightweight but that does not take away from how well it protects the guitar. If you are a traveling musician this is going to be a BIG asset for you.

Cordoba F10 Sound

I do not think I can praise this guitar more and not get accused of being paid by Cordoba representatives (trust me, I wish I were sponsored by them). The European spruce and cypress come together beautifully to create crisp sound with Flamenco buzz. The tone is well balanced, and great projection, as well as lack of muddiness, creates a perfect combo. When you are getting a Flamenco guitar you need to make sure that the volume is good enough to resonate through your bones and the F10 definitely does that.

Conclusion

Cordoba prides itself on high-quality models that integrate modern and traditional techniques and materials to come up with guitars that will blow you away. The F10 is one of those models. This is a more expensive model but that is to be expected due to the quality of tonewood and construction as well as the fact that it is a Flamenco guitar. Overall, a lightweight, highly responsive and amazing looking F10 is a no miss for intermediate and professional players.
