Kremona Flamenco Series Rosa Morena Nylon String Guitar

Pros:

  • Great sound
  • High quality tonewood
  • Comfortable

Cons:

  • Might be expensive for a beginner
  • Action might be too high for some

If you are trying to move from your first guitar to a more expensive and highest quality model, Kremona Flamenco Series Rosa Morena Nylon String Guitar might be just the right fit for you. Kremona might not be as famed as, for instance, Fender or Yamaha but that definitely does not take away from the quality and amazing construction of this model. Let’s discuss one of Kremona’s models – Flamenco Series Rosa Morena Nylon String Guitar.

Build

The Rosa Morena guitar is part of Flamenco Series. The top is made of solid European spruce and it provides amazing volume and clarity to the sound. The back and sides are Indian rosewood, another great quality tonewood get better with time if you treat it right. The neck is made of Honduras cedar and is fairly comfortable even for beginners, although, I would say, this is a more intermediate to professional level guitar.

Hardware

The hardware on Rosa Morena is up to par, to say the least. The gold tuning machine with pearloid buttons are easy to use even for someone who is new to guitars. The nut and saddle are made of bone. And I can almost hear the sound of relief of hundreds of “purists” who hate anything but real bone for their saddle. And to be honest, as pretentious as it might sound, bone is definitely a top-notch material that will take your guitar from okay to amazing.

The strings on this model are Kremona Arete nylon strings that perfectly complement the instrument. Fortunately, you do not have to change the string set right away, which is a case with a lot of models. Also, as a nice bonus, you get a dual-pocketed padded gig bag which does a surprisingly good job in protecting your instrument from any damage. I mean surprisingly, because mostly gig bags with neck suppose that ships with the instrument are flimsy and more “symbolic” accessories but fortunately with this one you won’t have to worry about spending more money and time researching gig bags or cases because this one is very functional.

Kremona Rosa Morena Sound

If you are a beginner you might be a bit hesitant purchasing a guitar that costs over $500. That is very understandable, you might not know how long your “infatuation” with guitars will last or whether it is any good (if you are very new to guitars). BUT if you are here for the long haul, Kremona Flamenco Series Rosa Morena Nylon String Guitar will definitely not disappoint you. This model is not only great looking and has amazing Flamenco sound but it also, at least for me, sounds a lot better than some other models that come at twice this price. The tone is very well balanced with clean and bright treble and zero moodiness. The only problem you might encounter is that the action might be too high for your taste (especially if you are a beginner).

Conclusion

Overall, Kremona Flamenco Series Rosa Morena Nylon String Guitar is a beautiful piece of equipment that delivers on construction, sound and looks. A perfect match for an intermediate or professional player interested in Flamenco. That being said, if you are a beginner just getting yourself into guitars this might also be a great option (due to great comfort) if you can spare a couple of hundred dollars.
