Naneki Soprano Ukulele Bundle

Pros:

  • Kid and beginner-friendly
  • Nice sound
  • Affordable

Cons:

  • Not the best tuner
  • Flimsy gig bag
  • Issues with tuning (in the beginning)

While a lot of people decide to play ukuleles because it seems like an easy, no-hassle task and probably does not cost a lot, there are quite a lot of intricacies to consider. First of all, a lot of cheaper ukuleles have low-quality wood. Some manufacturers even opt for plastic instead of wood. Apart from that, you need to consider the size of the uke and so on and so forth. It is also important to take into account certain accessories that are pretty vital. That is why it is great to find a bundle deal that will cover all your needs. One of those deals is Naneki Soprano Ukulele Bundle.

Build Quality

This model is soprano size, the smallest one out of the four most popular body types. There are advantages and disadvantages to soprano. The most obvious problem is that the sound is not going to be as full and load as with baritone ukuleles. On the other hand, soprano ukuleles are very easy to hold and play. They are amazing for kids or people with smaller hands who find it hard to handle bigger, bulkier instruments. Naneki uses African Sapele, mahogany and maple for the construction which creates nice tonal range and consistency.

Hardware & Bundle

The Naneki Soprano Ukulele features stainless steel tuners which are a great, rare thing with affordable ukuleles. A lot of companies choose plastic tuners because they are cheaper to make but stainless steel ones are so much more durable. Apart from that, there are strap buttons which will make the life of a lot of players a lot easier. As for the bundle, this uke ships with cloth gig bag, strap, extra strings and electronic tuner. As you might expect not all of the accessories are the best (just like with any bundle deals). The electronic tuner is not very good while the gig bag is not make out of the more durable material. That being said, most gig bags that come with ukuleles are kind of flimsy and function more as transportation accessory than protection one.

Naneki Ukulele Sound

I have mentioned that soprano ukuleles do not have the same capacity as, for instance, baritone ukes. While that is mostly true, that does not necessarily mean that the smaller sized ukuleles are any worse. The tonal range and overall sound of this Naneki model are pretty good for an affordable model. There are tuning issues at the start but they will subside with time. I would not say that this model would compare well with the more expensive models but in its price range, the Naneki Soprano gives a good run for its money.

Conclusion

Naneki Soprano Ukulele Bundle is one of the best beginner ukulele bundles because it perfectly balances sound, playability, and price. Maybe it is not the most nuanced and well-built ukulele in the world, but for a beginner who is just starting off, this bundle with being pretty much everything they will need for a while.
