No matter how hard we try to lean towards innovation and technological advancements, there are some treats from the past that we simply cannot forget. Not only that, but we also cannot stop turning to them every chance we get. Yes, I am talking about analog circuits and chorus pedals, in particular. There is something about the combination of these two that makes a perfect sense. For some, the concept of such units is a mere step on the way to better things. For others (including me) it is the tastiest recipe. Because of that I might be a bit subjective, but I think that’s okay from time to time, especially when the stompbox you want to appraise is absolutely fascinating. Today we are going to talk about Donner Tutti Love – a wonderful micro pedal that does way more than the enclosure dictates. It has many features that will catch your eyes, heart and soul and force you to make the purchase. There are many reasons why it works and this article will tell you most of them. Are you ready? Then make yourself comfortable and let’s dive into the capabilities of Tutti Love together!

Features

There is a recurrent theme in case of micro pedals – more often than not they are not packed with diverse features. Rather, brands take a different approach and try to incorporate the properties that are the most essential and useful. They strive to neglect the quantity and focus on the quality of the things that they offer. Tutti Love was designed with that in mind.

It has an Aluminum-alloy enclosure that will be quite durable in the long run. The color of the shell is light blue. The design is completed with black knobs, a silver footswitch and a white Donner logo. Its smooth appearance makes it a staple for any pedalboard. Speaking of which, fitting this fella is a child’s play due to its size – it will find some space even on the most overcrowded pedalboard. As I have mentioned above, Tutti Love has analog circuitry, which means its sound is distinctive and beautiful.

It does also have True Bypass switching that will eliminate the chance of losing the pieces of your sound in the chain. Once disengaged, this pedal will not interfere with your signal at all. Unfortunately, it cannot be powered with a battery, but I do not think that it is a deal-breaker. Most of us stick to power adapters anyway, so there is no need to complain. Lastly, Tutti Love has an LED which displays whether the unit is on or off. This might be really helpful for those who gig frequently and have to deal with poor lighting on stages. With this one, you will not have to play any guessing games, which is always a good addition to the feature package.

Controls

In order to describe the control section of Donner Tutti Love I would say that you do not need to be an expert in order to understand what to do. The encoders are self-explanatory since their labels indicate on the functionalities perfectly. If you are a novice, I would still suggest scanning through the manual, but if you are lazy, this article will be enough as well. On that note, let me explain what we are dealing with here.

The interface looks like this: we have two smaller knobs on the top row and below that, a bigger encoder. The first two are Level and Depth. The former adjusts the output volume of the chorus, which allows you to balance the whole rig and create uniform pieces. The latter changes the amount of the effect added to your sound. Basically it alters the intensity and saturates your signal more and more as you turn it clockwise. The third knob we have here is Rate. It modifies the speed of your chorus and gives you the ability to be slow and subtle or fast and rhythmic (and anything in between). And lastly, we have a true bypass footswitch that triggers the circuitry and activates the pedal, then disengages it whenever you decide to stop utilizing the unit. Simple, ha?

Donner Chorus Pedal Sound

When you check out the price of Donner Tutti Love, you might be skeptical of its sonic capabilities. However, the brand has not compromised its quality for the price. Rather, they did the best they could to put together the circuitry that would create a multidimensional chorus. And boy, did they succeed at that! Many of you might criticize me and say that there are better options out there, but those better options cost way more than this one. For the price, Tutti Love performs fantastically.

It operates without any noise and the bypass is actually true. The effect itself is quite deep and full, meaning that it will be audible in the mix. Though you cannot tweak individual frequencies, they are still discernible, since the pedal recognizes and emits them without any problem. Tutti Love is quite versatile in the sense that the controls give you an array of different sounds. And the majority of them can be accessed with simple modifications. You do not have to spend hours tweaking in order to find the tones you have been looking for. Briefly, this tiny fella might surprise a musician or two (in the best way possible) with its capabilities and leave them attached to this stompbox for hours on end.

Conclusion

To conclude everything said above, Donner Tutti Love is probably the best chorus pedal for the price. It would be really difficult to beat its build quality and sonic capabilities at this price point. This brand always proves that cheaper pedals can kick some asses too. I am sure that what you have already read will be enough to at least consider this fella as an option. Your final decision is none of my business, but I suspect that you will not regret if you invest your pocket money in this one. Good luck!
